Read the assigned text chapters first. Be prepared to be examined on any or all of the environmental terms or concepts found in the texts. For your homework for this class session, answer the following questions. In preparing for this assignment, you should review the link provided for this course to help you analyze case law.

  1. Answer the discussion questions for the assigned chapters. When the U.S. Forest Service for whatever reason chooses to sell timber below market-price the in effect act to use public money to fund the forest industry. Which kind of politics does this practice most resemble (entrepeneural, majoritarian, interest group, client and club based) and why. (You will need to research this question to the point of understanding each of these five policy orientations and then explain how your answer best describes the practice of the Forest Services decision to sell timber below market levels).

  3. In 200 words describe the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Koontz v St. Johns River Water Management District.
